BMA Weekend House Design is a corporation established in the state of New York. The firm focuses on the design and development of single family residence and weekend house for private individuals and corporations. The firm provides design services in all scales of home environment, from site selection for a house to determining the best relationship between a house and views, the design of the house itself, interior decoration and arrangement of furnitures.
The firm's headquarter is at Poughkeepsie, New York. It is strategically located in Poughkeepsie to serve clients in the Hudson Valley and Upstate New York, but depending on the location and the scale of a project, our firm works in collaboration with other professionals such as structural engineers, landscape designers and local architects licensed to practice in the jurisdiction of the respective project location.
Founding members of BMA Weekend House Design, Inc. have worked extensively on architectural projects in the State of New York and New Jersey. The firm also worked on selected projects in Japan.
The firm can also take advantage of the fact that it has its own in-house award-winning furniture and product designs, which can be commissioned in concert with interior and architectural design.

Ben Ryuki Miyagi,

Mr. Miyagi , although a native of Japan, has spent most of his academic and professional career in New York metropolitan area. Mr. Miyagi is in charge of developing the firm’s presence focusing on the Hudson Valley area. Mr. Miyagi received a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Mr. Miyagi has worked at Picciotto Architecture, P.C. in New York City and Hillier Architecture in Princeton NJ prior to his current position at BMA Weekend House Design.
Marc van Schendel
Treasurer, BMA Weekend House Design
Mr. Van Schendel has been practising architecture in New York City for more than 15 years. He has worked on residential projects in Brooklyn, Long Island and New Jersey. He had broad experience in both design and construction management of residential projects. He received a Master of Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
